Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Cleared for Streaming 12:01AM EST

We’ve received word from Bethesda Community Manager, Nick Breckon, via Twitter this morning that the much anticipated Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been cleared for streaming at 12:01AM EST on 11-11-11.

Of course, those with permission from Bethesda are cleared to stream Skyrim already, which primarily means our friends in the gaming press. Check out GiantBomb’s stream with Supergiant Games’ Greg Kasavin at the helm, along with 1UP’s live stream as well.

MW3 Cleared to Stream at 12:01AM PDT

We’ve received a ton of requests asking when it’s alright for broadcasters to begin streaming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on TwitchTV. We can finally give you the official word, directly from @CallofDuty on Twitter.

World’s leading video game broadcasting community ramps up business development and revenue strategy

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–TwitchTV, the world’s largest video game broadcasting community, today announced that video game industry veteran, Jonathan Simpson-Bint, has joined the TwitchTV team as chief commercial officer.
Mr. Simpson-Bint joins TwitchTV at a time of strong growth, where he’ll help build and expand key business relationships within the video game industry, including leading game publishers, consoles, leagues, tournaments and other gaming media organizations. He will also be integral in expanding TwitchTV’s long-term advertising product and revenue strategy.

An Englishman by birth, Mr. Simpson-Bint came to the U.S. in 1993 as part of the original Future Network USA management team. Between 1994 and 1999 Jonathan launched a number of highly successful products including the magazines Next Generation, PSM: 100% Independent PlayStation Magazine, and web portals IGN.com and DailyRadar.com.

In 2001, Mr. Simpson-Bint became president of Future U.S. and oversaw a period of significant growth for the company fueled by acquisitions in the games, music and sports markets, as well as overseeing the company’s success in becoming official publisher to Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.

He left Future U.S. in the summer of 2009 and has since worked with a variety of start-ups including Loud3r.com and Blue Sky LightGrid, as well as serving as Co-Chair of MI6, the only professional organization for video game marketers.

TwitchTV Mixer with White-Ra in San Francisco

The TwitchTV team is hosting a special mixer for fans in startups and tech to celebrate SC2 Pro-Gamer White-Ra’s visit to San Francisco. Come to the new TwitchTV offices to meet White-Ra: professional Protoss Starcraft player, master of Special Tactics and IPL Season 2 Champion. White-Ra will be at the office from 6-8pm next Wednesday October 19th for photos and to play a few show matches with fans. We’ll provide some beer, and fun will be had by all.

Marathon Gamers 100 Hour Charity Marathon!

The Marathon Gamers is a group of friends who come together multiple times a year to raise money for various charities. Every event they host they are playing games for extended periods of time, always streaming their events live over the internet. On October 12th, they will be hosting their first 100 hour marathon in which they will be raising money for the American Cancer Society. Being October, the marathon will be themed for Halloween, they will be playing all sorts of horror, zombie, and survival games throughout the 100 hours. Along with those games, they will be doing some fun events, such as a Dance Central tournament and an eating competition.

Throughout the 100 hours, they will be entertaining the viewers in any way possible, as well as taking challenges from donors, which could range from singing and dancing, to eating some bacon toasted ants. Along with the challenges, they will be giving away plenty of prizes for donors and viewers. All money donated will go to the American Cancer Society in honor of Robert Hickman, the grandfather of one of the gamers who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer over the summer.

RedBull LAN

The RedBull LAN is being held in Santa Monica, California from September 30 – October 2 at a special training facility specifically designed by RedBull to test ones physical and mental limits. For the first time ever, Starcraft 2 will be brought to the RedBull LAN environment! With it, comes some of the most renown players, players like Destiny, White-RA, Sheth, Socke, Goody, Slush, Ret, Bomber, Thorzain, QXC, Tyler, and last but not least MiniGun. Starcraft 2 will be commentated by none other than Mr. Sean “Day[9]” Plott himself.

As we introduce Starcraft 2 into a new LAN environment, we won’t, no… We can’t! Forget the Halo community that calls the RedBull LAN home. Players that will be attending consist of Walshy, Enable, FlameSword, Assault, Ace, Ninja, Mikwen, Naded, Pistola, Lunchbox, Roy, and Ogre 2. With the one and only, Danish “Dmaq” Maqbool commentating.
